Los Cabos (the capes) is a remote resort area situated at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula, where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific join to produce some of the richest fishing grounds in the world. Game fish of all descriptions are found here, including three varieties of marlin, with some weighing in at nearly 100 pounds.
If you are not a fisherman, there is still a wide variety of activities to suit even the most discrimination traveler. The beautiful, nearly deserted beaches are perfect for tanning or longing between romps in the crystal clear waters. For the more active, Los Cabos is ideally situated for world-class surfing, scuba diving, and snorkeling. You can also enjoy windsurfing, horseback riding, biking, golf, jet and water-skiing, and hunting.
Los Cabos has seen a colorful history. Nomadic tribes first inhibited the area. In the 1500's the European missionaries arrives, and 300 years later, whalers and pirates landed here. Most recently, adventurous big game fishermen came by private plane or yacht to test their skills.
In the midst of this wonderful wilderness, you will also find restaurants catering to all tastes, from deli to marvelous seafood to continental cuisine. Shopping, too, offers many leather shops, galleries, and regional craft exhibits.
